Vertical Silos
With the development of a vertical storage system using cylindrical carbon steel silos, Scutti manufactures solutions whose storage capacity increases with increasing height.
We offer silos of various capacities, under Monolithic (SM/SME), Telescopic (ST/STE) and Bolted models of the SP Series.
Vertical cylindrical silos whose barrel or body is made up of two pieces, one of which has a smaller diameter in order to be transported inside the other and optimize mobilization costs. Likewise, its installation is easy and expeditious thanks to the minimum number of flanges that compose it.

Rectangular Silos
HC Modular Storage System and SR 105 Mobile Silo operating in port docks where they are loaded by ships and in turn load cement trucks.
The Rectangular Cement Terminal is a modular storage system composed of one or more HC type rectangular silos with a capacity of 1400 m³ each. The HC terminal is designed to be installed in port docks where it can be easily filled from ships or in those areas where the height of buildings is limited to 14 m, and can even be installed inside the building.
SILO’S ACCESSORIES
The operation of a silo requires the installation of complementary accessories that fulfill safety, operational and inventory forecasting functions.
In the first case, the pressure relief valves and the upper level indicator are elements that provide safety to the operation, while the lower level indicator functions more as an indicator for inventory replenishment.
In terms of operability, the fluidization systems installed in the cone favor the continuous discharge of the material.
The Pressure Relief Valve is a fundamental mechanism to ensure the safety of silos and their operators. The relief valve, also called safety valve, is a mechanical device that opens automatically when the internal pressure of the silo exceeds the calibration limits. It is designed to safeguard the silo body and the entire operation around the silo in case of overpressure during the loading process or negative pressure that causes the silo to collapse due to suction.
RLB / Paddle Level Indicator
Our RLB level indicator, available for various voltages, alerts when the material inside the silo has reached a certain level, by emitting a light signal on the electric panel that controls it.
The indicator installed on the upper level signals that the silo filling should be stopped as the preset maximum level has been reached. While the indicator on the lower level provides a signal of the need to reload the silo.
Radar Level Transmitter
This instrument allows continuous level measurement without contact with the material stored in the silo thanks to an operation totally independent of disturbances in the stored material such as dust turbulence. It is conveniently controlled by a display with alphanumeric menu.
IF and PF Aeration Plants
Scutti America's IF and PF aeration plants impact the material contained in the silo cone by means of air jets allowing a fluid discharge, avoiding clogging, compaction of the material and the formation of voids. They are supplied with all the necessary components for installation in the cone and the instruments and connections for proper operation. The IF system operates with 1" diameter nozzles, while the PF system is composed of 3" diameter polyethylene membrane pads.
Aerosol Aeration System
We manufacture polyester membrane open-top openers to form part of a complete aeration system, which we supply with their respective mounting rings, piping and necessary connections.
Bin Activators
Their installation in silos that store fine materials with a tendency to caking allows free discharge of the same. They are manufactured in carbon steel with a suspension system with fixed supports and elastic band in EPDM.
The unloading to tank trucks or cement drums, either directly from the silo mouth or using an auger as an intermediate means of transport, is carried out through telescopic sleeves that allow a perfect coupling to the truck and free of dust emissions to the environment. Our retractable sleeves are supplied with carbon steel cones, electric elevator with limit switch, emergency sensors and dust collector filter, all operated by a control panel that allows the commands to be managed from a remote cabin.

Our augers represent a solution for both silo loading and unloading. We offer a variety of designs that include augers for horizontal or vertical conveying of powdery or low granulometry materials, as well as special augers for non-conventional materials and conditions. They are manufactured with tubular or channel section with capacities as specified by your project. The ball joints, both at the inlet and outlet of the auger, allow the material direction and the convenient adjustment with the feeder equipment and with the receiver.
In the silo discharge function, they can be complemented with a shrink chute operating the whole as a system whose automation can be implemented.

In order to offer you a solution for conveying materials over short distances and with performances that meet your project specifications, we custom design standard tubular screw conveyors with diameters between 114 and 323 mm and lengths up to 13 m, cascade solutions for longer lengths or special solutions involving diameters and lengths greater than the standard.

U-channel augers are generally used in operations where frequent monitoring of the conveyed material is required, which is possible thanks to the bolted top cover. They are manufactured with standard, belt or Creusabro spirals depending on the material to be conveyed and flow rate required, in sizes between 150 and 350 mm and lengths up to 13 m, cascade solutions for longer lengths or special solutions involving dimensions and lengths greater than the standard.

When a project calls for combined solutions involving processing and conveying, Scutti America offers dosing and mixing augers for a wide range of products with different moisture, density, particle size or abrasiveness. These augers, intended for special operations, have different dimensions, materials and components than standard augers.
The special tailor-made augers are manufactured under strict safety standards and quality guidelines that ensure a highly reliable and efficient product.
air filtration systems
Dust collectors to avoid polluting emissions to the environment, resulting from the loading of silos or concrete trucks. The dust retained in the filtering devices is recovered after cleaning, either by electric vibration or by blowing pressurized air, returning the product back to the silo.
Scutti America provides solutions for air filtration through its cement dust collectors or similar, which are specially designed for each type of requirement, providing cleaning systems by vibration or pressurized air jet and the possibility of installing air extractors to these collectors.
The use of filters is a responsible measure that reduces dust emissions into the atmosphere in compliance with international environmental regulations, in addition to obtaining the advantage of reducing material wastage of products stored in bulk.
Our filtering media are manufactured as corrugated polyester cartridges or polyester bags, with surfaces that vary from 2 m² to 86 m². (22 to 926 sqft). The internal pressure of the silo generates an airflow that passes through the cartridges or bags, designed to trap micrometric particles, allowing the air to exit without residues to the environment.
Cylindrical cartridge filter, filtering surface of 24 m² and cleaning system with pressurized air. It is designed to be installed on the silo roof as a vent filter. Its compact dimensions and quick-opening device offer the operator trouble-free maintenance and high safety. The MAXAIR filter can be optionally fitted with a dust collector hopper and butterfly valve.

Rectangular cartridge filter made of carbon steel available in three models according to its filtering surface of 50, 72 and 86 m². Cleaning system with pressurized air "full immersion" type. The EKO filter is designed to collect the dust emitted during the loading procedure of concrete mixer trucks and also to be installed on the silo roof as a venting filter. We offer a wide range of valves to be incorporated in the discharge of silos, hoppers or other equipment, either as operating valves or for shut-off functions in case of emergencies and during maintenance work.
- Butterfly valves to choose in aluminum or steel, with manual command or pneumatic actuator.
- High temperature resistant valves are available upon request.
- Heavy duty gate valves
Our butterfly valves of the VFA Series are manufactured in aluminum with double flange and seals that guarantee an operation free of emissions to the environment. They are available in diameters from 100 mm to 400 mm for controlling the discharge of powdered materials in various areas of the operation, which can be done manually or through a pneumatic actuator. On request, we can supply them for handling materials at high temperatures.
Scutti pneumatic actuators are offered in three sizes with air consumption ranging from 1.8 to 7.6 l/min and each model with the option to choose the solenoid valve voltage and the inclusion or not of the limit switch.
Scutti America's VFS valves are designed for manual actuation only as a function of their common use when installed in silo discharge due to their ability to withstand heavy loads. They are manufactured in carbon steel with double flanges and seals that guarantee an emission-free operation to the environment, to be bolted directly to the silo discharge or adjusted by hooks as a versatile solution when the silo discharge diameter is not exactly known.
Scutti America's heavy duty gate valves are manufactured in cast iron, with adjustable seals that guarantee their tightness. Our valves are ideal to be installed in silo discharge to handle powdery or low granulometry materials, manually or by means of a pneumatic piston actuator, solenoid valve and limit switch. We manufacture them in three sizes with quadrangular section, 250 x 250, 300 x 300 and 400 x 400 mm.

When an operation requires the dosing of materials, rotary valves offer a simple, safe solution, with no dust emissions to the environment and with capacities that adapt to your needs. In addition, rotary valves are the solution par excellence in the feeding lines of pneumatic conveying systems since they allow the passage of the material between two environments with differential pressures and controlled air flow.

WICOMSILO SECURITY SYSTEM
The loading of silos by means of pneumatic systems is an operation that can become critical because the internal pressure in the silo can exceed the maximum levels admitted by design and put at risk the integrity of the silo and of the workers working in the surrounding areas.
The WICOMSILO system, as a safety system, is based on the monitoring of the internal pressure of the silo by means of a pressure switch located on the roof and linked to a logic control unit (PLC) with a touch screen that allows visualizing and controlling the system components. These equipments that make up the WICOMSILO system are activated during the silo loading process and, depending on the registered pressures, the system emits either normal or alarm signals and, if necessary, stops the loading process.
WICOMSILO includes all the necessary equipment to ensure the safety of the silo-loading process.
Environmental protection in line with the SDGs and Scutti America's commitment, encourages the use of this safety system as it supports a safe working environment and certain component equipment reduces dust emissions into the environment through a fully controlled process.

The WICOM control unit checks the internal pressure in the silo and interacts with the other safety devices that make up the system.
The RLB level indicator is an electromechanical device that detects and indicates by means of a light signal that the product stored in the silo has reached the minimum and maximum level.
The PN pneumatic box contains the necessary connections for actuating the Pinch valve and the air control switch.
The MS ring welded to the silo roof is designed to connect the WICOM control unit to the silo interior by means of Rilsan piping.
The SA alarm siren is automatically activated when the system detects any security anomaly.
The El00 STORZ system coupling securely connects the tanker truck to the silo loading pipe. Available in two sizes: DN80 mm and DN100 mm.
The MAXAIR-24 filter is a dust collector designed to collect the dust generated during silo filling and return it to the silo, thus avoiding possible emissions to the atmosphere.
The VISUAL touch screen connected to the WICOM control unit allows interaction with the system, both locally and remotely. The screen is available in two sizes: 4 and 7 inches.
The K100 coupling with pin allows the safe connection of the tanker truck to the silo filling pipe. Available in two sizes: DN80 mm and DN100 mm.
The VDS/273 safety valve is a mechanical device that opens automatically when the internal silo pressure exceeds the pressure limits set as design calibration.
The Pinch VL valve is a shut-off device that is actuated in case of emergency to stop silo loading. Available in two sizes: DN80 mm and DN 100 mm.

As a commonly used equipment in silo loading, the bucket elevator allows the transport of dry bulk materials vertically from the foot of the silo to the silo roof. Among the range of bucket elevators we offer, there are belt bucket elevators, usually for fine materials, and chain bucket elevators for heavy duty work (abrasive materials and high temperatures), either with central chain or double chain, with capacities between 13 and 1000 m³/h, and heights to suit your project.
Regarding material discharge, the elevators can have central, peripheral or continuous discharge. With the latter type of discharge, dust generation is minimized.
For the transport of dusty, non-abrasive and non-corrosive materials, with controlled temperature and humidity, we facilitate the integration of hovercraft as an economical solution and without dust emission to the environment. These airslides consist of double chamber ducts, with low downward slope (between 5 and 15%), where the material moves in the upper chamber over a membrane that is fluidized by a blower or blower from the lower chamber.
This equipment can be used both for silo loading and unloading and for conveying the material to the next point indicated in the operation flow chart.
For both material loading and unloading processes, we offer conveyor belts with capacities between 29 and 3900 m³/h, and belt widths between 500 and 2000 mm, with two or three rollers, as well as flat or concave belts. Steel structures and transfer towers can be supplied upon request.
Our belts are equipped with safety guards and all the necessary safety and control devices, such as traction rope emergency stop switches, speed control switches and belt sway detectors. They can be designed with enclosure to minimize dust emission to the environment.
In addition to conventional conveyor belts, we also supply belts for projects with special requirements, offering high resistance belts, reversible conveyor belts, mobile conveyor belts, mobile headers, trippers (tilting trolleys), among others.
This equipment represents the most suitable solution for horizontal, inclined or vertical conveying of bulk materials, especially in the case of materials with high abrasiveness and/or temperature characteristics.
We offer the following diversity of chain conveyors:
- Central Chain Conveyors: with capacities between 2 and 126 m³/h, and widths between 180 mm (7") and 635 mm (25"). Chains in different types of steel and alloys depending on the application. With these conveyors it is possible to move horizontally and vertically simultaneously.
- Double Chain Conveyors: with capacities between 14 and 576 m³/h, and widths between 480 mm (19") and 1400 mm (55"). Steel components, designed for wear resistance and easy maintenance and replacement.
- Chain Conveyors for Cleaning: They are used to collect and recycle the material that escapes from open conveyors in order to reduce the accumulation of product under the equipment and environmental contamination.
