Vertical Silos
Through the development of vertical storage system and the implementation of cylindrical carbon steel silos, Scutti manufactures solutions whose storage capacity increases by changing its height.
We offer silos of various capacities under models Monolithic (SM/SME), Telescopic (ST/SME), and Bolted models (SP Series).
These Vertical Cylindrical Silos have two pieces of different diameters, one smaller than the other, which allows us to ship them with one inside the other. Installation is quick and easy due to the minimal number of flanges.

Rectangular Silos
HC Modular Storage System and SR 105 Mobile Silo operating in port docks where they are loaded by ships and in turn load cement trucks.
Modular storage system composed of HC type rectangular silos with a capacity of 1400 m³ each (50,000 cbt). The HC terminal is designed to be installed in port docks where it can be easily loaded by vessels or in areas where the height is limited to 14 m (46 ft).
SR 105 is a Buffer silo between a ship and a bulk cement truck. With a capacity of 105 m³ (3,708 cbf) and the necessary equipment to carry out the transfer in a safe and ecological way, it has the autonomy to fill up to three trucks consecutively. The trucks can be filled at the same time as the silo is fed from the ship.
SILO’S ACCESSORIES
Silos accessories are fundamental for guaranteeing safe operations and available storage forecasting.
In the silo industry, the safety relief valve works along with the upper-level indicator to provide safety to the storage operation. The lower lever indicator works as inventory replenishment control.
A fluidization system is installed at the silo's cone to improve the continuous discharge rate.
The Pressure Relief valve is a fundamental mechanism to ensure the safety of silos and their operators. This mechanical device opens automatically when the internal pressure of the silo exceeds the set pressure. It is designed to protect the silo body and the entire operation in the event of overpressure during the loading process or prevent the silo from collapsing due to negative pressure.
RLB / Paddle Level Indicator
Our multi-voltage level indicator sensor alerts the user when the silo has reached a pre-established level.
When that level has been reached, a light on the main board turns on. When this device is installed on the top of the silo, it's an alert to end the loading process. On the other hand, the device installed on the bottom notifies the user when the silo needs to be loaded again.
Radar Level Transmitter
Allows a continuous measurement of the stored material without touching it, managing the measuring with a built-in display. Thanks to radar technology, it is independent of physical variations of the application, such as dust generation, filling noise, temperature layers, and gaseous sky.
IF and PF Aeration Plants
Scutti America's IF and PF aeration plants impact the material contained in the silo cone by air blasting, allowing a continuous discharge, avoiding clogging, material compaction, and void formation. They are supplied with all the necessary components for installation in the cone, instruments and connections for proper operation. The IF system operates with 1" diameter nozzles, while the PF system is composed of 3" diameter polyethylene membrane pads.
Airslide Aeration System
We manufacture open air slides with polyester filtering media to be part of a complete aeration system that we supply with their respective distribution ring, mounting fixtures, and rubber connections.
Bin Activators
Bin activators are installed in silos that store fine materials with a tendency to cake, allowing them to freely discharge. They are manufactured in carbon steel with a piston rod suspension system and elastic band gasket in EPDM.
The silo's unloading to bulk cement trucks, either directly from the silo's outlet or using a conveyor system as an intermediate means of transport, is done through loading spouts that allow the perfect coupling to the truck and avoid dust emissions to the environment. Our loading spouts are supplied with a carbon steel sealing cone with a rubber coat, anti-wear cones inside the hose, an electric winch, limit switches, and emergency sensors. A built-in dust collector with a self-cleaning system completes the equipment. It is operated by a control box from a remote cabin.

Our screws represent a solution for silo loading and unloading. We offer a variety of designs that include screw conveyors for horizontal or vertical transport of powdery or low granulometry materials, as well as special conveyors for non-conventional materials and conditions. They are manufactured with tubular or U-trough sections and capacities required by your project. The ball joints at the inlet and the outlet allow the accurate routing of the material.
The silo discharge operation can be performed with a loading spout making the process automated and remote.

Our conveyors offer a solution for transporting materials over short distances, with performances that meet your project's specifications. Our tubular screw conveyors range in diameters between 114 and 323 mm, and lengths up to 13 m. Out of these diameters ranges, special solutions are provided. For longer lengths than 13 m, cascade solutions are required.

This type of conveyor is mainly used in transport operations where material monitoring is frequently required. Monitoring is achieved by the removal of the bolted cover. The flight can be standard, ribbon type, or manufactured with wear-resistant steel, depending on the requirements of the material to be transported and the required flow capacity. When a project requires processing and conveying solutions, Scutti America has the solution, offering dosing and mixing conveyors for a wide range of products, thoroughly selected, taking into consideration different factors such as moisture, density, grain size, or abrasiveness. These screws, intended for special operations, have different dimensions, materials, and components than standard ones.
Specially designed augers are manufactured under strict safety standards and quality guidelines that ensure a highly reliable and efficient product.
air filtration systems
Dust collectors avoid emissions to the environment while loading silos or concrete trucks. The dust retained in the filtering devices is recovered after cleaning, either by electric vibration or by air jet system, returning the product back to the silo.
Scutti America provides solutions for air filtration through its cement dust collectors or similar, which are specially designed for each type of requirement, providing cleaning systems by vibration or pressurized air jet and the possibility of installing air extractors to these collectors.
The use of filters is an environmentally responsible measure that decreases dust emissions into the atmosphere, is in compliance with international environmental regulations, and reduces material wastage of bulk stored products.
Our filtering media are manufactured as corrugated polyester cartridges or polyester bags, with surfaces that vary from 2 m² to 86 m². (22 to 926 sqft). The internal pressure of the silo generates an airflow that passes through the cartridges or bags, designed to trap micrometric particles, allowing the air to exit without residues to the environment.
Cylindrical cartridge filter, 24 m² (258 sqft) filtering surface and air jet cleaning system. It is designed to be installed on the silo roof as a venting filter. Its compact dimensions and the quick opening device offer the operator trouble-free maintenance and safety. The MAXAIR filter can optionally be installed with a dust-collecting hopper and butterfly valve.
Cylindrical cartridge filter made of stainless steel with a filtering surface between 9 and 39 m² (97 and 420 sqft) and air jet cleaning system. FGS filters can be optionally fitted with an electric fan and a dust-collecting hopper with a butterfly valve at the bottom.

Rectangular cartridge filter made of carbon steel available in three models according to its filtering surface of 50, 72 and 86 m². Full immersion air pressure cleaning system. The EKO filter is designed for the collection of dust emitted during the loading procedure of concrete mixer trucks and also to be installed on the silo roof as a venting filter. Our polygonal bag filter has a filtering surface that ranges from 35 to 127 m² (377 to 1367 sqft) with an air jet cleaning system controlled by an electronic sequencer. This type of filter can be installed at the top of the silo or in any dust emmiting industrial project. A dust-collecting hopper with a butterfly or rotary valve can be installed at the bottom of the filter.

valves
We offer a wide range of valves installed at the discharge of silos, hoppers, and other equipment. They can be used as operative valves or for a scheduled plant shutdown.
- Choose the butterfly valve you need: aluminum or steel, manually or pneumatically operated.

Our Butterfly Aluminum Valves Series with double flange and seals guarantee an operation free of emissions to the environment. They are available in diameters from 100 mm to 400 mm (4 to 16 inches) for controlling the discharge of powdered materials in various areas of the operation, which can be done manually or through a pneumatic actuator. Upon request, we can supply them for high-temperature conditions.
Scutti pneumatic actuators are available in three sizes with air consumption ranging from 1.8 to 7.6 l/min (110 to 464 cubic inches/min), the required solenoid valve voltage and the inclusion or not of a limit switch.
Scutti America's VFS valves are only designed for manual actuation in silo discharge due to their ability to withstand heavy loads. They are manufactured in carbon steel with double flanges and seals that guarantee an emission-free operation. This valves can be installed bolted to the silo discharge or adjusted by hooks as a versatile solution when the silo discharge diameter is not known.
Scutti America's heavy-duty slide valves are manufactured in cast iron, with adjustable seals that guarantee their tightness. Our valves are ideal to be installed in silos discharge to handle powder or materials with low granulometry, for manual operation or with a pneumatic actuator, electrovalve, and limit switch. We manufacture them in three sizes with quadrangular sections, 250 x 250 (10" x 10"), 300 x 300 (12" x 12"), and 400 x 400 mm (16" x 16")
The Pressure Relief Valve is a fundamental mechanism to ensure the safety of silos and their operators. The relief valve, also called safety valve, is a mechanical device that opens automatically when the internal pressure of the silo exceeds the calibration limits. It is designed to safeguard the silo body and the entire operation around the silo in case of overpressure during the loading process or negative pressure that causes the silo to collapse due to suction.
When an operation requires material dosing, rotary valves offer a simple and safe solution with no dust emissions to the environment and with a wide range of capacities to adapt to your needs. In addition, rotary valves work great allong pneumatic conveying systems, because they feed lines while allowing the passage of material between two environments with a differential of pressures and controlled air flow.

WICOMSILO SECURITY SYSTEM
Pneumatic silo loading is a critical operation due to variations in internal silo pressure. An increase in the pressure over the designed levels put at risk the integrity of the silo and the operators working in the surrounding areas.
The WICOMSILO system, as a safety system, monitors the internal pressure of the silo by a pressure switch located on the roof and linked to a logic control unit (PLC) with a touch-screen to visualize and control the system components.
This system is activated during the silo loading process and depending on pressure, the system emits alarm signals and even can stop the loading process.
WICOMSILO includes all the necessary equipment to ensure the safety of the silo-loading process.
Protecting the environment in line with the SDGs and the commitment of Scutti America encourages the use of this safety system as it reduces dust emissions into the atmosphere to the environment and supports a safe working environment.

The RLB level indicator is a device that detects and displays by a luminous signal that the product has reached the maximum and minimum levels in the silo.

The Pressure Relief valve is a fundamental mechanism to ensure the safety of silos and their operators. This mechanical device opens automatically when the internal pressure of the silo exceeds the set pressure. It is designed to protect the silo body and the entire operation in the event of overpressure during the loading process or prevent the silo from collapsing due to negative pressure.
The Pinch VL valve is a shut-off device that activates when an emergency to stop silo loading. Available in two sizes: DN80 mm and DN 100 mm.

Loading and unloading materials
At Scutti America we know how important it is for our customers to have integral solutions. We offer solutions for filling silos, as well as equipment for unloading and transporting stored materials, depending on the scope provided by the customer.

The following is a list of the equipment we traditionally consider:
As commonly used equipment in silo loading, the bucket elevator allows the transport of dry bulk materials vertically from the bottom of the silo to the silo roof. Among the range of bucket elevators we offer are belt bucket elevators for fine materials and chain bucket elevators for heavy-duty work (abrasive materials and high temperatures), either with central chain or double chain, with capacities between 13 and 1000 m³/h (459 - 35,315 cbf/h), and heights to suit your project.
Regarding material discharge, the elevators can have central, peripheral, or continuous discharge. With this last type of discharge, dust generation is minimized.
For the transportation of dusty, non-abrasive, and non-corrosive materials, with controlled temperature and humidity, the airslides are an economical solution without dust emissions to the environment. These airslides consist of double chamber ducts with low downward slope (between 5 and 15%), where the material moves in the upper chamber over a membrane that is fluidized using a blower from the lower chamber.
Airslides can be used both for silo loading and unloading and for transporting the material to the next point the operation requires.
For material loading and unloading processes, we offer conveyor belts with capacities between 29 and 3900 m³/h (1,024 - 137,727 cbf/h) , and belt widths between 500 and 2000 mm (20" - 79"), two or three rollers, as well as flat or concave. Steel structures and transfer towers can be supplied upon request.
Our belts are equipped with safety guards and all necessary safety and control devices, such as pull rope emergency stop switches, speed control switches, and belt sway detectors. They can be designed with enclosures to minimize dust emissions to the environment.
In addition to conventional conveyor belts, we also supply belts for projects with special requirements, offering high resistance belts, reversible conveyor belts, mobile conveyor belts, movable heads, and trippers (tilting carriages), among others.
These types of conveyors represent the most suitable solution for horizontal, inclined or vertical conveying of bulk materials, especially in the case of materials with high abrasiveness and/or temperature.
We offer the following diversity of chain conveyors:
- Central Chain Conveyors: with capacities between 2 and 126 m³/h (71 - 4,450 cbf/h), and widths between 180 mm (7") and 635 mm (25"). Chains in different types of steel and alloys depending on the application. With these conveyors it is possible to move horizontally and vertically simultaneously.
- Double Chain Conveyors: with capacities between 14 and 576 m³/h (494 - 20,341 cbf/h), and widths between 480 mm (19") and 1400 mm (55"). Steel components, designed for wear resistance and easy maintenance and replacement.
- Cleaning Chain Conveyors: They are used to collect and recycle the material that escapes from open conveyors in order to reduce product accumulation under the equipment and environmental contamination.
