PUNTA ARENAS STORAGE SILOS - MELON PUNTA ARENA

MELON, relying on the experience of SCUTTI AMERICA, has awarded us the manufacture of TWO SILOS (960 m³ (33,902 cbf) and 490 m³ (17,304 cbf)), for the new modular cement grinding unit type Plug&Grind® XTREME installed in the industrial zone of the city of Punta Arenas in Chile, during the years 2019-2020.
The project included all mechanical, electrical and automation equipment for storage, loading and unloading and automation equipment for the storage, loading and unloading of raw materials required for the production of very high-strength cements, such as Melón Extra and Melón Especial.
The plant is equipped with the most modern technology for the production of high-fine cements, has low energy consumption in production, and incorporates modern filtration systems, capturing dust emissions in compliance with the strictest European environmental standards. The advantages related to the compact and modular CEMENGAL's Plug&Grind® modular type plants have been key to meeting the deadlines and quality criteria that MELON ensures in its cement investments.

MELON has been present in the Chilean cement industry for more than 110 years and has an ambitious expansion plan in the southern zone, where it has recently expanded from 300,000 to 600,000 tons per year at the grinding plant in Puerto Montt milling plant and the installation of a new modular plant.
